Getting Involved….
Not-for-profit community Kindergartens, like Tarralla Kindergarten, rely on the help we receive from our families.
There are many opportunities to assist at Tarralla Kindergarten. Assisting the Kindergarten not only helps the Kindergarten and the community, but is a rewarding and satisfying was of being involved in your child’s kindergarten, and meeting and interacting with the staff and other parents and families.
Stay and Play
The kindergarten sessions benefit from the assistance of helpers in
addition to the educators. It is encouraged that families support the program by assisting with our Stay and Play roster a couple of times per term. An additional adult in the room enables the educators to spend increased time working with each child and often allows us to provide additional learning experiences. You may be asked to help with tasks such as:
→ Assisting the children
→ Naming work
→ Assisting children at snack time
→ Helping with the pack up routine
→ But most importantly, having fun!
This is also a valuable time for parents to see their child at play in the kindergarten environment.
General Assistance
We understand that some parents may not be able to assist with kindergarten duty or the committee, but there are many other activities and assistance parents can provide that allow them to get involved with the Kindergarten – no special skills required! Talk to one of the staff or committee to find out how you can get involved.
Committee of Management
At Tarralla Kindergarten we have a highly skilled, and extremely dedicated team of teachers and educators. However, they cannot operate the kindergarten alone.
As a not-for profit Incorporated Association, Tarralla Kindergarten is managed by a Committee of Management, which is supported by an Operational Sub-committee.
The Committee of Management and Operational Sub-committee positions are held by volunteer parents and community members who are willing to give some of their time to help Tarralla Kindergarten run smoothly.
